PlugLife ("we") is a community app for rating amenities at EV charging stops. This policy covers the PlugLife website and Android app.
Location
PlugLife only accesses your device location when you tap a location feature (such as "Use my location", "Locate me" or "Find closest charger") and your device asks for and receives your permission. Location is processed on your device to sort or find nearby stops. We never store your location on our servers. When you plan a route, the start and destination (which may be your current coordinates) are sent to the third-party routing and search services listed below only to compute the route. If you choose "Share my location", a link is created on your device and shared only with the app or person you choose.
Account information
If you create an account we collect your email address (for sign-in, confirmation and password resets), a password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and your chosen username. Optional profile fields: display name, avatar photo, home city. Your email is never shown publicly.
Stop preferences and My Tesla
If you rank amenities, set an estimated range, or add your car (model year, model, trim and its range - or a range you enter yourself) for the trip planner, that information is saved on your device. If you are signed in, it is also saved privately to your account so it follows you across devices; only you can read it. We never ask for or store your VIN, and none of this includes your location. The departure battery % you enter in the trip planner stays on your device only. The stops PlugLife suggests are worked out on your device. Deleting your account deletes all of this.
Range estimates are based on EPA data from fueleconomy.gov (U.S. Department of Energy / EPA, public domain), downloaded October 2026. They are estimates: real-world range varies with speed, weather, elevation and load.
Public content
Your username, display name, avatar, home city, check-ins, ratings, comments, photos and problem reports are public and visible to anyone. Don't include personal information in photos or comments.
Service providers
- Supabase - database, authentication and photo storage (USA).
- Vercel - website hosting; standard request logs.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers - map images.
- Geoapify (address autocomplete; Photon (komoot) as a backup) - address and place search, and OSRM / FOSSGIS - route calculation; they receive the text or coordinates you search for.
- US Census Bureau geocoder - when you type a street address (one starting with a house number), that address text is sent, via our own server, to the Census Bureau to find its exact location. We do not log these searches or attach your account or device location to them.
- Google Fonts and unpkg/esm.sh CDNs - deliver fonts and code libraries.
We do not sell personal data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
Retention and deletion
Your account and content are kept until you delete them or ask us to. You can delete your account (or delete only some of your data) yourself at any time from those pages or from Account in the app; it happens immediately. If you can't sign in, email us from your account's email address at the address below and we'll complete deletion within 30 days.
Children
PlugLife is not directed to children under 13.

We'll update this page if our practices change.
